Brandeis Hillel Day School is a K-8 Jewish independent day school serving over 590 children on two campuses in San Francisco and Marin. Essential Functions ? Develop and maintain the school?s personnel policies and procedures, employee handbook, personnel forms and recommend changes to school administration. ? Administer employee benefits, including insurance renewals and ensure effective and timely communication. Develop, implement and maintain effective compliance with applicable employment regulations. ? Maintain secure and confidential human resource related files and records. ? Prepare employment agreements, coordinate salary changes and oversee correct FLSA classification of jobs. Maintain employee vacation, PTO, sick leave, and other time off and leave records. ? Work with business office and supervisors to ensure payroll compliance with all wage and hour laws. ? Prepare and maintain accurate job descriptions. ? Provide recruitment and hiring process support to department representatives. ? Guide and support decisions made in the ?lifecycle? of an employee, from recruitment and orientation to performance management to termination of employment. ? Answer questions from employees regarding benefits, pay, leaves of absence, and other personnel matters quickly and accurately. ? Work with administrators to resolve complex and sensitive employee relations issues including unusual situations where precedents for resolution may not be available. Consult with legal counsel, as necessary, to minimize potential liability. ? Supervise part-time business office clerical assistant.Qualifications: ? Bachelor?s degree and/or PHR/SPHR certification and a minimum of four years experience as a human resources generalist and 2 years of management experience... ? Demonstrate considerable and broad knowledge of the principles, procedures and practices of human resource management as an HR Generalist. ? Ability to effectively deal with multiple priorities, functions and activities. Resourceful and well organized. ? Superior interpersonal abilities. Ability to communicate verbally and in writing effectively with people at all levels in the organization. Tactful, mature, and flexible. ? Results and people oriented, sound judgment, and ability to balance other business considerations with employee issues and concerns. Customer service oriented but persuasive and assertive. ? Excellent analytical skills. Proficient in Microsoft Office including Outlook, Excel, Word, and PowerPoint, including spreadsheets and data base tracking systems. ?
