Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini goes on pre-order for ?25 per month

Phones4U is offering the newly announced?Samsung Galaxy S3 Mini for as little as ?25 per month on a two-year contract with Vodafone - that's a total cost of ownership of ?600.

The mobile retailer is sweetening the deal by offering a free Samsung Pebble, a small MP3 player that accompanies the smartphone as well as three months? worth of free Wi-Fi.

The Galaxy S3 Mini is a bit of a disappointment, however. Although it does borrow from the smooth, pebble-like design of its bigger brother, it shares more DNA with the Samsung Galaxy S Advance (otherwise known as the Galaxy S2 Lite), which was launched earlier this year.

Like the latter, it has an ST Ericsson Novathor U8500 dual-core SoC clocked at 1GHz, a 4in 800 x 480 AMOLED display, a 5-megapixel camera, a microSD card slot and a front-facing camera.

The handset does offer a few improvements, though, including Android 4.1 Jelly Bean, NFC, 1GB of RAM (rather than 768MB) and a whole array of features such as S Voice, S Beam and Smart Stay.

Other networks that will stock the phone includes Vodafone, Orange and O2.

Carphone Warehouse will also sell the handset, which can be had SIM-free and unlocked from Unlocked-mobiles for as little as ?295.
