Samsung May Soon Release Snapdragon 800 Equipped GT-I9506 Galaxy S4 Globally

At the risk of severely annoying early adopters, Samsung may be poised to offer a new and more powerful version of the Galaxy S4 later this year. Recently we have seen Samsung release an amped up version of the SGS4 in their home country of South Korea. It contained Advanced LTE (LTE-A) and the more powerful Qualcomm Snapdragon 800 processor on board. For the most part international markets weren't too bummed out about it because it was after-all a limited release in the home country of the product. That may be poised to change soon however.

According to a report from a Korean news site, a new global version of this more advanced, Snapdragon 800 equipped Galaxy S4 is likely to be coming to market before the end of this year. An AnTuTu benchmark for a device with the model GT-i9506 just showed up online and it contains a 2.3GHz Snapdragon 800 processor inside. According to the report, this device is likely to be launched at IFA in September at the same time as the Galaxy Note 3.

Of course, in the long run, the fact that this device scores a few thousand points higher in some benchmark probably doesn't really translate into a real-world difference in user experience. More than likely, if you put both versions of the SGS4 next to each other, 99% of folks would not be able to tell which one was which unless you told them. Still, for hardcore tech-head junkies we can see feeling a bit miffed by this. What do you thin? Is it too soon for Samsung to release an improved "refresh" of the SGS4?
